Job Summary

BAYADA Habilitation is seeking a Habilitation Technician to serve as a Companion/Buddy for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves building long-lasting relationships, supporting clients in achieving their goals, and fostering an inclusive community environment.

About the Role

This position provides one-on-one support in the local community, focusing on areas such as budgeting, socializing, shopping, and using public transportation. The role requires attentiveness to meet individual needs with dignity and respect, ensuring client safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities, such as Special Olympics.
• Support clients in developing their independence and achieving their goals.
• Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.
• Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication.
• Passion for providing opportunities to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
