About the role

As a Maintenance team member at Hyatt Place Detroit/Utica, you contribute to the hotel’s commitment to high-quality guest service and teamwork. You’ll create a guest experience that surpasses home by delivering welcoming, helpful, and exceptional service while maintaining a clean, comfortable, and hospitable environment. This position is primarily responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting spaces, and customer-facing areas, including preventative maintenance of guest suites and public spaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair guest suites, meeting spaces, and public areas
• Perform preventative maintenance in guest suites and public areas
• Repair mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment
• Interact with guests and provide exceptional service
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of building maintenance experience
• Experience repairing mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment
• Strong English language skills (verbal, reading, and writing)
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a role requiring speed and guest interaction
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 20 lbs)
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience preferred, particularly in a hotel or related field
• Customer service experience
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Genuine desire to meet the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
