Job Description

Aid the Store Manager in overseeing all operations within Grocery and Sub-Departments (Bakery/Deli, Produce, and Meat); focus on enhancing customer interactions and addressing employee concerns; assume Store Manager responsibilities during their absence.

Requirements

  • Willingness to relocate for advancement.
  • Previous experience as a Person In Charge (P.I.C.) or Third Person (3rd Person).
  • Two or three professional references, such as store managers, district managers, or former employers.
  • Pass a required background check.

Essential Functions

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Use of fingers, hands, and arms.
  • Use of a 10-key calculator.
  • Basic math and retail pricing calculations.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Adherence to job principles, facts, procedures, and policies.
  • Directing and controlling work in assigned areas.
  • Supporting and encouraging employees.
  • Training employees in their roles.
  • Understanding the duties of all departments.
  • Effective communication with the Store Manager and other P.I.C.s.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Solving problems and analyzing data.
  • Controlling expenses.
  • Following up and monitoring tasks.
  • Organizing and coordinating store activities.
  • Complying with company policies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and corporate databases (Item Master, Movement).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and applying basic algebra and geometry.

Physical Demands

  • Standing for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Using hands, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment.
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Carrying up to 10 pounds regularly for 50 feet, up to 50 pounds frequently for 10 feet, and up to 75 pounds occasionally for 10 feet.
  • Pushing up to 100 pounds for 50 feet.
  • Pulling up to 50 pounds for 50 feet.
  • Performing stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • May require using ladders and stairs.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to extreme cold.
  • Presence of wet or humid conditions.
  • Slippery surfaces.
  • Working in confined spaces.
  • High levels of noise.
