The Permit and Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the permitting processes for right-of-way and new residential construction projects. This position ensures regulatory compliance by overseeing the review and tracking of permits, conducting thorough inspections of private development and capital construction projects, and maintaining accurate records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the implementation of the District’s mission and vision through daily work. Supports team efforts and consistently upholds the District’s core pillars in all responsibilities.
- Review, process, and track right-of-way (ROW) permit applications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Conduct inspections to verify adherence to permit conditions, ensuring the safety, quality, and long-term integrity of infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the permitting process for new home construction, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
- Conduct site inspections of private development and District capital construction projects to ensure compliance with permit conditions and approved plans and District standards for roadway, sewer, and water systems.
- Conduct erosion and sediment control inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best management practices.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of permits, inspections, and compliance documentation. Manage the database of active permits, ensuring that records are up to date and readily accessible. Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspections, permits, construction files, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and contractors, while monitoring and documenting work progress and compliance.
- Cookordinate with developers and contractors to facilitate permitting, project approvals, and inspections.
- Investigate and document potential permit violations, issuing notices and coordinating enforcement actions as necessary.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to applicants regarding permit requirements, submittals, and review processes.
- Aid in updating policies, procedures, and best practices related to permitting and compliance activities.
- Prepare and present reports, correspondence, and recommendations regarding permitting activities and compliance issues.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive professional who enjoys balancing fieldwork, project coordination, and public-facing service. They are comfortable interpreting plans and specifications, working collaboratively with contractors, consultants, developers, and staff, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Associates degree. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, public administration, environmental science, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Experience with municipal permitting processes is desirable. Knowledge of roadway, water, sewer, and stormwater construction practices is desirable. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and permits.
- Licenses: Valid Colorado driver’s license required.

- This position is eligible for a year end performance-based bonus.
