About the Role

We are seeking a Permission Planner to join our team, focusing on coordinating access, power interruptions, and required work with customers, property owners, and local agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Discuss access, power interruption, and required work with the customer or property owner.
  • Address responsibility for visible property damage, referring disputed cases to the General Foreperson.
  • Frequently travel between job sites as required.
  • Perform customer service and scheduling through daily interaction with homeowners, businesses, and local government.
  • Obtain oral or written permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and apply herbicides near high-voltage electric facilities.
  • Coordinate with customers, property owners, businesses, and local agencies regarding project access, scheduling, outages, and work requirements.
  • Support daily field operations by working closely with General Forepersons, Forepersons, and project leadership to manage schedules, resources, and priorities.
  • Enter, maintain, analyze, and report project data using customer and company systems.
  • Process daily production reports, crew sheets, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate resources, including materials, flagging services, subcontractor support, and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) requirements to meet project needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of customer reports, completed work documentation, and billing-related information.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to support field operations and customer needs.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
  • Must have the ability to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must engage in communication and manage confrontations with professionalism.
  • Must be able to read maps and utilize geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Must be proficient in using mobile devices with email, Outlook, and MS Excel.
  • Must have transportation to and from the show-up location.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License (a CDL is a plus).

Physical Requirements

  • Rare (less than 10%): Sitting, Kneeling, Crawling, Color Vision, and Climbing Stairs.
  • Occasional (up to 33%): Stooping, Squatting, Climbing On/Off the Truck, Reading, Pushing, Climbing Ladders, and Lifting up to 50 LBS.
  • Frequent (up to 66%): Walking, Body Twisting, Manual Dexterity, Speaking Clearly, Hearing – Speech Range, Lifting, Carrying, Pulling, Balancing, and Lifting up to 10 LBS.
  • Continuous (up to 100%): Standing, Sense of Touch, Seeing Distant, Climbing, Gripping, Lifting over 10 LBS to 50 LBS, Seeing, Reaching, Range of Motion, and Depth Perception.

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must:

  • Have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools.
  • Be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
  • Withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain.
  • Be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day.
  • Communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information.
  • Communicate and handle conflict professionally.

Additional safety considerations:

  • Exposed to natural elements such as plants that may irritate, insects that may bite or sting, and dust.
  • May be exposed to dogs and other animals.
  • Works at varying heights above ground with proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Works around excessive noise from machines, jackhammers, chainsaws, and other equipment with proper hearing protection.
