Permanent Substitute Teacher (Elementary Schools)

About the role

The San Mateo‑Foster City School District is seeking 8 Permanent Substitute Teachers to support all elementary schools in the district. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the district serves approximately 10,500 students speaking 50 languages across preschool through eighth grade in 22 schools, including three middle schools, fifteen elementary schools, three K‑8 schools, one Early Education Center, and preschools co‑located at six elementary sites. The district offers theme‑based programs such as Montessori, Spanish and Mandarin Immersion, and STEM, and is committed to achievement, equity, and wellness goals for all learners.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Must hold a California Teaching Credential.
• Acceptable credentials include a 30‑day emergency permit, a multiple subject credential, or a single subject credential.

Benefits

• 10 paid sick days per year.

Pay

$250.00 per day, prorated for early release or shortened days.

Schedule

Full‑time position; 186 work days per year.
