About the role
As a Permanent Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you serve in a variety of teaching positions across a set of diversified subjects such as Spalding reading and writing, science, social studies, and enVision math.
- Create a classroom and safe environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best.
- Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success.
- Explore individual needs and provide side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns, developing personalized solutions to match their learning style and abilities.
- Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals using a variety of best practices and teaching strategies.
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior, good character, and social skills in the classroom, on campus, and throughout their lives.
- Evaluate and celebrate student academic performance, involving parents/guardians in the student’s progress and ensuring support staff are set up for success.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in education.
- Possess a current substitute teaching certificate from the state where the position is located.
- Pass a criminal history background check (requirements may vary by state, including state and national criminal history checks).
- Create positive, powerful energy that fuels school spirit and models our values.
- Participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Be physically active in the role, including light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, and traveling to other campuses as required.
