About the Role

You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer. You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder. The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing
  • Perform snow and ice operations

Requirements

Highway Maintenance Worker 1

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction
  • Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
  • Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Highway Technician 1

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions
  • Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
  • 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

  • Highway Technician 1: $22.29 per hour

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Work Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
