Permanency Supervisor (Child Welfare Supervisor 2) (Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred)
About the role
The Oregon Department of Human Services seeks a Permanency Supervisor to join its team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring child safety and stability, aligning with the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and resolving complaints.
- Plan and implement service delivery strategies that align with community needs and departmental resources.
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures from the Department of Human Services and the District.
- Delegate personnel and resources, ensure client service continuity, and address client grievances.
- Ensure compliance with program standards, administrative rules, and legal requirements through case and workload reviews.
- Monitor and analyze client needs and service delivery to maintain effective and timely casework practices.
- Provide consultation and training to staff, review service agreements, and liaise with community agencies and Central Office staff.
Requirements
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, or an associate degree with relevant experience, is preferred. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a strong preference.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and two years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
- A bachelor’s degree unrelated to human services and completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency and two years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience in human services.
- An associate degree and three years of human services related experience, two years of which must have included lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
- An associate degree and completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency AND two years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience in human services.

- Experience supervising and managing a work unit including hiring, training employees, assigning, and reviewing work, providing employees with feedback on their performance, providing oversight of operations, and managing staff performance.
- Experience creating and maintaining a work environment that is respectful, facilitates the development of teams, and is a professional model of leadership for staff.

Pay
$6,199 - $9,603 annually.
Schedule
Regular work week with fluctuating hours; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional extra hours to meet business needs. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting children with car seats. Handling sensitive topics related to trauma, abuse, and crises, requiring a trauma-informed approach.
