About The Role

The Permanency Achievement Specialist works to achieve permanency for children in the program in a caring and responsible manner while following all standards and policies. This role involves working closely with children and families to identify the best placement options, educating families on the adoption process, implementing permanency plans, coordinating services, and supporting the social and psychological well-being of participants. The position serves as an advocate and partner to families throughout the permanency process, including attending court hearings, school meetings, and community events, while also networking to recruit potential foster and adoptive families.

Responsibilities

  • Work with children and families to identify and secure appropriate permanency placements
  • Educate families on the adoptive and guardianship process
  • Implement permanency plans and monitor progress
  • Carry out home studies and family assessments
  • Cookordinate services and resources to support participants’ social and psychological needs
  • Aid with adoption and guardianship documentation submission
  • Cookordinate subsidy processes for eligible families
  • Advocate for families through court hearings, school meetings, and community engagements
  • Attend networking events to recruit foster and adoptive parents
  • Develop relationships with community partners to support placement and recruitment efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an approved Human Services field
  • CWEL preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to obtain a valid Illinois driver’s license within 30 days if relocating
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Qualifications

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of child welfare and adoption processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
