About the role
Kimberton Whole Foods in Wyomissing is hiring for a part-time Perishable Team Member.
Schedule
- Part-time, up to 24 hours per week
- One weekend shift required per week
- Availability on Saturday and/or Sunday, Monday, and Friday
- Shifts between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm
Requirements
- Must be 16 years or older
Daily operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to all customers
- Receive and stock all incoming refrigerated/frozen items including fresh meat and fish, local eggs and dairy
- Receive and stock fresh bakery items and specialty products
- Stock and handle products following guidelines for time and temperature demands
- Prioritize product, vendor, and fresh department logistics; manage multiple small vendors
- Rotate backstock on a first-in, first-out basis
- Execute the current KWF ordering SOP to maintain fully stocked shelves in all departments
- Maintain awareness of general inventory and department priorities to avoid false out-of-stocks
- Work with the Perishable Department Head to maintain accurate and up-to-date product signage
- Follow KWF cleaning SOP in collaboration with the Perishable Department Head, including weekly cleaning of meat, dairy, and prepared food cases
- Assist the Front End by scanning customers’ groceries and completing transactions efficiently
- Bag customers’ groceries carefully and efficiently
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed
Physical capabilities
- Full sense range (vision, hearing, and sense of smell) to read product labels, distinguish colors and smells for quality control, and communicate with customers and coworkers
- Ability to lift, grip, and carry objects up to 50–75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools, and other products
- Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel to pick up boxes from shelving and carts
- Ability to walk short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas
- Prolonged standing
- Movement-based work environment with the majority of time spent walking and standing rather than sitting
- Ability to work in cold environments (cooler, freezer, backstock area) and handle cold products for extended periods
Pay
- Starting hourly pay: $15.00 – $18.00
