Perioperative Team, NP/PA

About the role

ChristianaCare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join an award-winning inpatient team and work on the surgical sub‑specialty unit at ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative management and care coordination for orthopedic joint replacement patients, bariatric surgery, short stay elective surgery and other specialties as assigned.
• Collaborate with the Center for Surgical Optimization (CSO), the ChristianaCare Advanced Joint Replacement Program, the multispecialty team on 7S, orthopedic surgeons and other surgical specialty teams to promote high‑quality outcomes for hospitalized patients.
• Play an active role in quality‑based initiatives to prevent complications, emergency department visits, surgical site infections, and readmissions after discharge.

Requirements

• Licensed or eligible for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Delaware.
• Acute Care NP license required.
• Prescriptive Authority or eligibility for the state of Delaware.
• DEA registration required.
• ACLS required.
• Experience as a NP or PA preferred.
