Perioperative Attendant – St. Francis Medical Center

About the role

The Perioperative Attendant is responsible for supporting surgical/procedural services by performing various tasks under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily set-up of surgical suites and room turnover between cases
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area throughout the OR
• Aids in patient positioning, lifting, and transfers
• Performs sterile holds as needed
• Restocks and maintains supplies and linens needed for surgery and anesthesia
• Cleans and maintains equipment and positioning devices
• Transports patients to/from multiple departments as needed
• Obtains clean inpatient beds and stretchers based upon department design
• Responds to various requests including running errands and obtaining items
• Performs patient point-of-care testing (POCT) as needed
• Performs daily quality control checks on POCT devices

Requirements

One-year perioperative experience (preferred)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)

• Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills: Monitor patient conditions during treatment, complete specific, routine tasks, operate basic equipment/machinery
• Soft/Interpersonal Skills: Attention to detail, critical thinking, teamwork, conflict resolution, active listening, relationship building
