Perioperative Attendant – St. Francis Medical Center
About the role
The Perioperative Attendant is responsible for supporting surgical/procedural services by performing various tasks under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily set-up of surgical suites and room turnover between cases
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area throughout the OR
- Aids in patient positioning, lifting, and transfers
- Performs sterile holds as needed
- Restocks and maintains supplies and linens needed for surgery and anesthesia
- Cleans and maintains equipment and positioning devices
- Transports patients to/from multiple departments as needed
- Obtains clean inpatient beds and stretchers based upon department design
- Responds to various requests including running errands and obtaining items
- Performs patient point-of-care testing (POCT) as needed
- Performs daily quality control checks on POCT devices
Requirements
One-year perioperative experience (preferred)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)

- Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills: Monitor patient conditions during treatment, complete specific, routine tasks, operate basic equipment/machinery
