Primary Responsibilities
- Under supervision, holds retractors in the operative suite.
- Provides transportation of patients to and from surgery.
- Insures relevant cleaning measures for the control and prevention of infection. Includes cleaning, disinfecting, and disposal of soiled linen and solid waste.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for following procedures in a timely manner.
- Collect and properly dispose of all wastes including biohazardous materials.
- Assists with limited patient care in the operating, recovery, and procedure rooms as needed, specified, and directed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Required Skills
- High School Graduate or GED-ability to read/write/follow directions
- Previous clinical experience in Operating Room environment desired.
- Current certification in BLS
- Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.
- Possess the ability to perform routine repetitive cleaning of assigned rooms, offices, rest rooms and other areas.
- Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
- Hospital experience 2-5 years
- Recommended Pyxis and Cerner
