Periop Fellowship- Registered Nurse, Full-Time, Operating Room, Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center
About the role
The program is designed for entry-level Registered Nurses looking to build a solid foundation in their Operating Room nursing careers. It includes a year-long residency focusing on both scrub and circulator roles, culminating in a Periop 101 certificate with 40 continuing education credits.
Responsibilities
- Participate in online courses and instructor-led classes aligned with AORN’s Periop 101 program.
- Engage in a 6-month rotation between scrub and circulator roles within the Operating Room.
- Complete all required modules and pass the final exam to earn the Periop 101 certificate.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but non-BSN graduates must complete their BSN within 5 years of employment.
- A valid NJ Nursing License or a valid Compact Nursing License required upon hire.
- BLS certification required.
Qualifications
- Non-BSN graduates must complete their BSN within 5 years of employment.
- All participants are required to commit to a 2-year employment period at Atlantic Health System.
- Two letters of recommendation from nursing instructors are required during the interview process.
