About the role
Optimizes ultrasound settings for accurate image acquisition.
Differentiates normal from abnormal fetal anatomic development.
Identifies sonographic markers indicative of aneuploidy.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of biotechnological and biomedical sciences relevant to sonography.
- Applies biomedical knowledge to patient care during sonographic procedures.
- Conducts thorough and precise ultrasound examinations.
- Communicates findings effectively to healthcare providers.
- Maintains patient comfort and safety during ultrasound procedures.
- Keeps accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborates with medical team to provide comprehensive care.
- Participates in continuing education to stay current with sonographic practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of fetal anatomic surveys [Required]
- Doppler assessment of arterial and venous blood vessels. [Required]
- Nuchal translucency [Required]
- Fetal growth assessments [Required]
- Biophysical Profiles [Required]
- Transvaginal cervical length assessments [Required]
- Provides sonographic assistance for procedures (chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, cerclage) [Required]
- Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements [Required]
Qualifications
- High School Grad or equiv [Required]
- Technical/Vocational School [Required]
- Field Of Study Graduation from a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography [Required]
- 3+ experience in perinatal sonography [Required]
- Clinical ultrasound/vascular experience as approved by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in OB/Gyn [Required]
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography Experience [Preferred]
