Perfusionist (S)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Perfusionist to operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during surgical procedures requiring cardiac or pulmonary support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for procedures through patient assessment
• Monitor anticoagulation, electrolytes, acid-base, and blood-gas status, taking corrective actions as needed
• Set up and operate extracorporeal devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Administer pharmacological agents, blood products, and manage additional support devices
• Ensure availability, maintenance, and calibration of equipment and supplies
• Document assessments, activities, and procedures accurately
• Maintain a high level of alertness and safety at all times

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Program
• Current Wisconsin Perfusionist license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification
• Strong physical stamina for standing, lifting, and frequent movements
• Attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to work in a team environment
