About the role

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking one (1) Board-Certified Perfusionist to provide Perfusion services at the Richmond VA Healthcare System located in Richmond, Virginia. Perfusionist must be efficient, motivated, focuses on patient care with our Veteran population. Perfusionists are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide Perfusion/Autotransfusion care.
• Assist the Cardio-Thoracic service with bypass surgical cases and valve replacement of various types.
• Perform on-site Perfusion Services in the treatment and care of eligible veteran beneficiaries as referred and authorized by the Richmond VA Healthcare System.
• Prepare and operate the heart and lung machines/pumps, maintaining a sterile environment for procedures, maintaining adequate blood volume in patients, and preventing shock or air emboli.
• Assemble supplies and equipment in preparation to accept a patient on extracorporeal circulation in cases of premature cardiac arrest or failure.
• Prepare, maintain, and operate VA-owned equipment, such as the heart-lung machine, autotransfusion pump, intra-aortic balloon pump, and centrifugal ventricular assist device.

Qualifications

• Certified with a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology.
• Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Performed a minimum of 200 clinical cases.
• Experience demonstrated in the following areas: Open-heart surgery, autotransfusion, heart-lung machine, membrane oxygenation, left/right heart bypass, intra-aortic balloon pumping, and centrifugal ventricular assist device.
• Active license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
• BLS & ACLS (AHA Required).

Pay

$96.89 / hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (eight hours per day).
