About the role
The Performing Arts Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality performing arts programs for youth ages 6-18. This role involves assisting with program planning, implementation, and evaluation, supervising members, and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of performing arts programming options
- Assist volunteers and consultants in delivering related instruction
- Supervise and discipline members as necessary
- Complete program activity standards as assigned
- Participate in evaluation efforts, including annual member surveys
- Maintain a safe and clean program area
- Enforce safety procedures and protocols
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1-year direct experience providing performing arts programs for youth
- Knowledge of performing arts programming, techniques, and theory
- Knowledge of youth development principles
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- MS Office and web competency preferred
- Bi-lingual or multilingual (preferred)
Benefits
Salary - $20/hr - $33.73/hr - commensurate with experience
