Performing Arts Assistant

About the role

The Performing Arts Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality performing arts programs for youth ages 6-18. This role involves assisting with program planning, implementation, and evaluation, supervising members, and maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of performing arts programming options
• Assist volunteers and consultants in delivering related instruction
• Supervise and discipline members as necessary
• Complete program activity standards as assigned
• Participate in evaluation efforts, including annual member surveys
• Maintain a safe and clean program area
• Enforce safety procedures and protocols

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1-year direct experience providing performing arts programs for youth
• Knowledge of performing arts programming, techniques, and theory
• Knowledge of youth development principles
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds
• Flexibility to work clubhouse hours
• Valid Driver’s License (preferred)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• MS Office and web competency preferred
• Bi-lingual or multilingual (preferred)

Benefits

Salary - $20/hr - $33.73/hr - commensurate with experience
