About the role

We are seeking an experienced Performance Tester to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks to support the testing and deployment of USPS software applications. The Performance Tester will lead performance validation across complex, distributed applications. This role is responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing performance, load, stress, and scalability tests to ensure our platforms meet enterprise-grade reliability and throughput requirements. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

  • Simulates hundreds/thousands of virtual users (Vusers)
  • Captures KPIs like response time, throughput, error rate
  • Supports different protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, web services, etc. depending on licensing)
  • Provides analysis reports and graphs to identify bottlenecks
  • Performance testing SDLC executions, development of performance test scripts, test plans, test executions, analysis, and reporting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain performance testing policies, frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance with organizational and security standards
  • Create, update, and manage training materials for performance testing and automation, ensuring they align with industry trends and organizational needs
  • Deliver ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to cross-functional teams to enhance their ability to execute automation and performance testing, driving continuous quality improvement
  • Provide support for Performance testing and Automation initiatives for teams and projects enterprise-wide
  • Evaluate and recommend testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of testing processes
  • Administrative support for maintenance of testing infrastructure and tools, including ALM, LoadRunner Enterprise, UFT, etc.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 5 years with ALM and UFT and software development preferred
  • Performance testing SDLC executions, development of performance test scripts, test plans, test executions, analysis, and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred. If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement: The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows:
    • U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions).
    • Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
