Performance Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine analyses
• Support data collection
• Maintain lab equipment
• Manage chemical inventory
• Assist during outages and maintenance
• Support regulatory reporting
• Contribute to training, procedure development, continuous improvement, and a safe work environment

Requirements

• Lead and manage boiler chemistry program
• Operate and monitor water treatment systems
• Oversee Certified Environmental Lab activities
• Inspect and maintain laboratory equipment
• Perform weekly chemical inventory
• Coordinate vendor analysis/review
• Conduct vibration data collection
• Perform air in-leakage testing
• Conduct steam trap surveys
• Monitor CEMS systems
• Complete NYISO/PJM/NERC-GADS reporting
• Maintain HAZWOPER certification
• Adhere to site Contraband Policy
• Report upset conditions
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations
• Perform calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments
• Record and analyze chemistry data
• Develop and maintain SOPs and AOPs
• Respond to emergencies
• Complete other tasks as requested

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC
• Extensive experience in a chemical laboratory or industrial environment
• Experience with water, cooling tower, and boiler water chemistry programs
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and chemical feed systems
• Experience performing routine chemical analyses
• Proficiency with laboratory and analytical instrumentation
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
• Strong understanding of chemical safety and handling procedures
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data collection skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance
• Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license
