About the role
As a Performance Engineer, you will diagnose and resolve complex performance issues that an in-house team has been unable to address. You will engage in all five aspects of Performance Engineering: software development lifecycle and architecture, performance testing and validation, capacity planning, application performance management, and problem detection and resolution. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with and manage the team, contribute to key decisions, and provide solutions across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement performance testing strategies to ensure application reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall system performance.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members on performance engineering best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and refine performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions while solving problems for your immediate and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of work experience.
- Previous hands-on experience as a developer and/or performance architect.
- Onsite client work 60% (3 days per week) in Charlotte, NC, including 5 days per quarter of client-mandated time away.
- Associate's degree.
