Performance Cook for Georgia Football
About the role
The Performance Cook for Georgia Football will assist the Head Performance Chef & the Performance Sous Chef, and other Performance Chefs in executing the culinary nutrition program for the Georgia football team. The individual will be responsible for preparing complex foods for football student-athletes based on established menus. Using a variety of cooking skills and methods, should have the ability to customize meals based on fueling needs, body composition goals, food allergies, and athletes' preferences.
Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation - Serve as a performance cook in the football meal facility which includes pre and post fueling for practice, lift, and games. Using a variety of cooking methods and kitchen skills, prepare meals that address football student-athlete body composition, dietary needs, and fueling requirements. Ensure food safety for all menus including but not limited to food allergies, expiration dates, temperature control, etc.
- Quality Control & Food Safety - Ensure proper culinary standards and techniques are in place for the preparation of food items, including production, presentation, and service standards. Responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of all cookware, dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, kitchen and dining area including all countertops and equipment.
- Athletic Meal Facility - Assist, when needed, in the Olympic Sports meal facility.
Requirements
Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, policies, and services.
Knowledge of nutritional principles as they relate to sport and athletic performance.
Knowledge of Health and Food Safety Codes for food preparation, storage, and serving.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with athletes, staff, and coaches.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
