Performance Coach - Shift

About the role

The Mill Wide Shift Performance Coach position is integral to the leadership and development of operators in the Crossett, Arkansas, paper manufacturing operation. This role is closely connected to multiple operating and shipping areas and works closely with other shift performance coaches for vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and environmental compliance, manufacturing excellence, and customer focus for the mill shift.
• Areas of focus include safety, environmental, quality, reliability, training, production, cost, and housekeeping.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions and acts.
• Recognize positive safety performance and individual/team contributions to a safer workplace.
• Plan and direct work for hourly production employees in the crew.
• Appraise employee performance and provide feedback as needed.
• Work with the departmental PCLs through SBOs to close employee gaps.
• Hold employees accountable for their work and actions in a fair and consistent manner; communicate issues and results appropriately.
• Lead operational and shift maintenance initiatives and resources to achieve maximum asset capability for speed, uptime, and reliability.
• Assist in resolving complaints and issues.
• Act as a positive change agent for continued development and improvement within a Principle-Based Management (PBM®) culture.

Requirements

• Experience training, mentoring, and developing others in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Excel (sorting data, creating tables, and creating graphs), Outlook (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations, and general professional correspondence), Word (document creation/editing), PowerPoint (presentation creation/editing).
• Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Experience in utilities, tissue, and converting operations.
• Mechanical equipment operation and/or maintenance experience.
• 2-year Technical/Vocational/associate’s degree or higher.

Schedule

This position does not have a fixed shift and is responsible for covering all vacation-related absences. Rotating shifts are currently 12-hour rotations.
