About the role
Your Job Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group is currently searching for a Performance Capability Leader for the Converting Department at our paper mill operation in Halsey, OR. This key leadership role is responsible for the performance and development of leaders in a results-oriented organization.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead, mentor, supervise, coach and develop salaried employees utilizing the Principle Based Management Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to build an Advantaged Talent Position
- Lead the team to achieve a safety and environmental incident free workplace identifying critical hazards and mitigating the risk based on criticality
- Lead the team to ensure production targets are achieved
- Leveraging capability support group leaders (i.e., EHS, Remote Teams, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, HR, etc.) through preferred partnerships
- Lead disciplined execution through management systems to advance our competitive position
- Lead teams to leverage technology for all operations employees (salaried and hourly) in a way that helps them do their jobs and build their capability to obtain results
- Provide leadership consistent with our Principle Based Management® guiding principles to facilitate the development of the knowledge and skills of self, salaried, and hourly employees to improve operational performance of the department and facility
- Show strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to lead organization initiatives and drive change
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a supervisor with responsibility for direct reports (i.e. holding personnel accountable, driving behavioral changes, improving performance gaps against individual skill capabilities)
- Experience with Asset strategy concepts
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools in the following manner: Excel – (sorting data, creating tables and creating graphs); Outlook – (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations and general professional correspondence); Word – (document creation/editing)
Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of leadership and management experience within a Converting manufacturing environment
- Experience in the pulp and paper industry
