Per Diem Ultrasound Tech - MFM Outpatient - Garden City
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Ultrasound Tech in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Outpatient at Garden City. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment and performing diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsibilities may include daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, reporting equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains high medical ethics and is self-motivated to increase their understanding and knowledge of the field, diseases, and evolving procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Operates Ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas as ordered.
- Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by a physician.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Ultrasound equipment.
- Ensures quality review of images falls within departmental Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines.
- Performs high-level disinfection for compliance across all Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) locations.
- Accurately utilizes the PACS system to make images available to the physician for interpretation, creating a minimum number of exceptions.
- Accurately utilizes systems, enters proper exam coding, and completes exams in a timely fashion.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies; reports equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Instructs and supervises ultrasound students in a clinical practicum, working with them to perform exams and evaluate images.
Requirements
- Technical diploma from an accredited 2-year ultrasound program.
- Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Ob/Gyn.
- Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Advanced computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography.
- 3-5 years of experience as an Ob/Gyn Ultrasound Technologist.
- Knowledge of EPIC EHR and ASOB ultrasound reporting system.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $65.00 - $65.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
