About the Role
The Per Diem Surgical RN plays a vital role in supporting patients through their fertility journey by delivering exceptional care in the surgical suite. This position is ideal for compassionate, detail-oriented individuals who excel in fast-paced environments and want to make a meaningful difference. As a Per Diem Surgical RN, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
We are seeking a Per Diem Surgical RN to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility - Georgia in Atlanta, GA. This is a per diem, on-site position with scheduled availability required Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM during designated egg retrieval batch weeks. Upcoming batch week dates include June 8-12, July 13-17, August 10-14, September 8-11, October 12-16, November 9-13, and December 7-11. This role offers flexibility while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients throughout their fertility journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures, perform preoperative assessment, give discharge instructions, and start IV.
- Recover patients after general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care. Reinforce discharge instructions.
- Deliver direct patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases in the surgical suite.
- Accurately document patient care and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Clearly communicate post-operative instructions to patients and families.
- Oversee surgical suite operations, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and equipment functionality.
- Adhere to and enforce aseptic techniques, quality control measures, and safety standards.
- Initiate emergency protocols as needed and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Mentor new staff and provide updates on any protocol changes.
- Collaborate with the Surgery Manager to assess equipment and supply needs.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the surgical team.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Education & Licensure: Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing). Must hold an active Georgia RN license or a current multistate/compact RN license. Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a pre-op/PACU setting.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
