Per Diem Social Worker

About the role

• Conduct screening and bio-psychosocial assessments of patients and families to evaluate distress and develop ongoing clinical plans.
• Provide clinical interventions, modify psychosocial plans, perform ongoing assessments, advocate for patients, and assist with resources.
• Collaborate with an interprofessional team to address patient needs.
• Assist patients and families in accessing appropriate psychosocial services along the continuum of care.
• Identify unique needs of assigned services and develop tailored interventions and programs.
• Produce quality documentation in medical records, written correspondence, and departmental-related materials, including Philanthropic Budget Sheets.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work (required).
• New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NY-LCSW) (required).
• At least 3 years of post-master’s work experience in a hospital setting.

Skills

• Strong clinical skills with individuals, families, and groups.
• Experience in oncology and/or palliative care in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of supervisory skills and staff management (helpful).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information

Location: Main Campus in New York City.

Schedule

Per diem as needed, with typical hours of Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.

Pay

$59 per hour.
