About the role
- Conduct screening and bio-psychosocial assessments of patients and families to evaluate distress and develop ongoing clinical plans.
- Provide clinical interventions, modify psychosocial plans, perform ongoing assessments, advocate for patients, and assist with resources.
- Collaborate with an interprofessional team to address patient needs.
- Assist patients and families in accessing appropriate psychosocial services along the continuum of care.
- Identify unique needs of assigned services and develop tailored interventions and programs.
- Produce quality documentation in medical records, written correspondence, and departmental-related materials, including Philanthropic Budget Sheets.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (required).
- New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NY-LCSW) (required).
- At least 3 years of post-master’s work experience in a hospital setting.
Skills
- Strong clinical skills with individuals, families, and groups.
- Experience in oncology and/or palliative care in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of supervisory skills and staff management (helpful).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information
Location: Main Campus in New York City.
Schedule
Per diem as needed, with typical hours of Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
Pay
$59 per hour.
