About the Role

Our Behavioral Health Unit provides the opportunity to work with mental health patients. We serve persons experiencing a severe psychiatric crisis and in need of an inpatient setting for safety, care, and treatment to stabilize the immediate crisis. Treatment is individualized and quality care is provided that best suits the needs of our patients, with an emphasis on maintaining safety, medication stabilization, and the development of individualized coping skills in response to the crisis. You will support your main unit but be cross-trained in all four units.

  • Adult Psych Unit – A 26-bed inpatient unit caring for the stabilization of acute symptoms of the psychiatrically impaired population. Addresses acute psychiatric intervention and facilitates discharge planning for safe transitions to the next level of care or return to the community. Patients often have comorbid medical and/or substance use illnesses. Supported by an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, NPPs, clinicians, nurses, and patient care technicians, with access to all specialties via consult.
  • Senior/Geriatric Psych Unit – A 20-bed unit addressing the medical and psychiatric needs of aging patients (typically 55+) experiencing mental health and substance abuse problems. Focuses on helping patients remain in the most independent living environment possible post-discharge. Not designed for primary dementia diagnosis.
  • MICA (Mentally Ill/Chemically Addicted) – A 14-bed unit providing a drug addiction rehab program for individuals suffering from both mental illness and substance abuse. Treats both disorders and their interaction with specialized, flexible services for dually diagnosed individuals.
  • CRISIS ER – A 6-bed, locked unit within the emergency department. Evaluates patients in mental health crisis to determine if inpatient admission or safe discharge with outpatient support is needed. Serves patients from adolescence to geriatrics, with referrals from the main ER, police, or ambulance.
