Per Diem RN

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, safe nursing care to diverse patient populations, including Neonate to Geriatric, in various clinical settings.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop, implement, and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Assist with tests, procedures, and medication administration, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
• Participate in orientation, precepting new staff, and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Respond to emergencies, maintain accurate medical records, and triage calls per departmental policies.
• Promote patient safety by following policies, reporting concerns, and encouraging patient participation in their care.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through educational programs, literature, and workshops.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Current RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required.

Skills

• Preferred bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Navajo).
• Additional certifications like PALS or TNCC.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and exert force as needed.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and require PPE.
