Per Diem Respiratory Therapist/Polysom Tech- Sleep Disorder Center
Employment Type: Part time, Per Diem (rotating shift, 12-hour shifts)
About the role
Specializes in the application of scientific knowledge and theory to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. Assumes primary clinical responsibility for all respiratory care modalities specific to the Sleep Disorder Center, including supervision of students enrolled in respiratory care programs. The Respiratory Therapist may be required to exercise considerable independent clinical judgement in the respiratory care of patients under the direct or indirect supervision of a physician.
Requirements
- Graduation from a CoARC accredited program in respiratory care with an associate's degree (required)
- Bachelor's Degree (desirable)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensed by the State of New York or Polysomnographic Technologist with associate degree in polysomnography and board certification as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) (required)
- BLS/CPR Certification (within orientation period)
- Participates in orientation and continuing education as mandated by the State of New York
- Completes population-specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service

- Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions
- Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Pay
Per diem rate: $35.60 - $53.70 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
