Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health Somerset is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for their Labor and Delivery Unit.

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma with 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
• Level II intermediate Nursery/NICU experience

Certifications And Licenses

• Required: BLS, ACLS, Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License, NRP certification within 6 months of hire, STABLE Certification within 6 months of hire

Scheduling Requirements

Day Shift, Per Diem, 3 shifts including 1 weekend shift per month, Holiday requirement

Essential Functions

• Provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
• Maintains a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors
• Knowledge of the patient population served
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement
• Individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs

Pay

The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $46.90 - $63.44 per hour.
