About the role

Provide individual and group support to clients in a residential or day program/clubhouse. Teach skills to enhance independence and quality of life. Function in a professional role in order to fulfill programmatic needs/ routines.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in developing, implementing, and documenting individual treatment support plans.
  • Responsible for a variety of daily tasks with clients, including rehabilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, and monitoring.
  • Support clients in becoming fully integrated into their communities.
  • Assess clients' physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisor.
  • Maintain program site safety and perform daily living and cleaning tasks.
  • Comply with all corporate and divisional policies and procedures, including safe work practices, worker’s compensation, universal precautions, and exposure control.
  • Complete various paperwork and logs including communication logs, community membership logs, chore schedules, time sheets, and application forms.
  • Perform crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge and use of advocacy techniques.
  • Knowledge and use of different communication styles.
  • Knowledge of empowerment and self-advocacy techniques.
  • Knowledge of required physical personal management skills.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
  • Teaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to provide role model behaviors.
