Per Diem Patient Flow Specialist - Patient Flow - Day Shifts

Location: Brooklyn, New York. Shift: Day Flex (per diem, 7:30 am–8:00 pm, including some weekends and holidays, up to 13 shifts per month).

Responsibilities

• Process all throughput within Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
• Triage cases to the appropriate service line attending.
• Collaborate with admitting teams and departmental leadership to facilitate admission of patients.
• Identify the appropriate level of care for admission, the appropriate needs of the patients, and facilitate admission to the appropriate part of the medical service.
• Coordinate communication among the patient care team.

Required Qualifications

• BSN required
• BCLS/ACLS certification
• Master’s in Nursing or related field (if Master’s in Nursing, BSN preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
• Current NYS RN Licensure
• Computer skills
• Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills
• Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of critical pathways, managed care, and continuum of care
• Ability to initiate, accept, and adapt to change; flexible
• Must live within a commutable distance to NYP (on-site presence required; no travel reimbursement)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s in nursing or related field
• Critical Care, ED, or Progressive Care experience

Pay

Salary range: $75.75 per hour.

Schedule

Per diem day shift, 7:30 am – 8:00 pm, including some weekends and holidays (up to 13 shifts per month).
