Per Diem Newscast Director

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct live and live-recorded news programs and special events
• Consult the producing team to improve the overall quality of the show
• Work with the control room team to execute a high-quality show
• Collaborate with the team to plan, block, and launch new show concepts

Requirements

• 5+ years experience directing live television news & specials
• Proficiency in both Automated and Conventional Directing. Sony ELC experience is preferred
• Knowledge of INews NRCS system is preferred
• Know-how to work seamlessly with producers, on air talent, and technical staff
• Good instincts, creative ideas, strong visual ability and understand when to take risks
• Leadership capabilities and exceptional ability to stay calm under intense and constant pressure
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Flexibility to work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment
• Technical director skills are a significant plus. Sony MVS/XVS/MLS Switcher experience is preferred

Pay

The pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $62.13 per hour.
