Position Details

Primary Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens (e.g., body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings or surgical specimens), exercising independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to result reporting.
Provides data for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization, evaluates the validity of laboratory data, records tests results, communicates with physicians, pathologists and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in CLIA regulations
- 6+ months of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in any discipline or equivalent from an accredited institution is also acceptable
- Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), by the ASCP or equivalent certification (those without Certification are typically expected to become certified within 6 months of date of hire)
- Will also accept certifications meeting the federal requirements of CLIA 88
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- 1+ years of laboratory experience
- Proven excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex clinical and instrument problems
- Proven accurate, reliable, and able to work well under pressure and to finish a task once started
- Proven solid communication skills, both in writing and speaking
Pay and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.

The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment.
