About the role
The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Refrigeration Operator at Mount Sinai Morningside. This position is responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and operating refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintains HVAC log, reflecting all changes in the HVAC and air conditioning systems.
- Adjusts all systems to ensure best efficiency and peak operation for all HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including flows, electrical, steam, and support equipment like air compressors, motor pumps, etc.
- Makes necessary adjustments to the building automation systems, ensuring their operation, routine service, and making adjustments when needed.
- Performs functions in the fire brigade, including responding with the fire brigade cart to all fires, drills, alarms, or calls related to safety.
- Aids the Stationary Engineer in the responsibilities of the Watch.
Qualifications
- Graduate or equivalent and an accredited associate degree in air conditioning technology.
- At least one year experience as a Licensed Refrigeration Operator or three to five years as an assistant refrigeration operator.
- Must be able to troubleshoot controls and miscellaneous equipment.
- Must be knowledgeable in Building Management Systems (BMS) computers.
- Must possess a current, valid NYC Unlimited Tonnage Refrigeration and Air Conditioning License, CFC License, a G95 for Cutting/Welding, an F97 Standard/Sprinkler Fire Pump; and be working towards a G35 Air Compressor COF and Water Treatment for Cooling Tower.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $52.7345 - $52.7345 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
