Primary Responsibilities
- Provide crisis outreach services throughout Kitsap County.
- Work within a collaborative and supportive team environment with assignments requiring solo outreaches for hospital/jail assessments and community crisis interventions and assessments.
- Maintain the respect and dignity of each client, the clients personal supports, and community professionals, emphasizing special population concerns.
- Function as a DCR consistent with the Involuntary Treatment Act of Washington State (RCW 71.05 and 71.34) and the DCR Protocols.
- Manage multiple simultaneous investigations, consults, and responsibilities with the ability to triage priorities in a high-stress environment.
- Conduct face-to-face (FTF) assessments of individuals to determine if they meet criteria for involuntary detention under criteria defined by the Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW 71.05 or 71.34) or that they meet crisis resolution by a least restrictive alternative.
- Assess and ensure the safety of clients, the community, and ones self during the investigation process, which includes coordinating and working with medical, law enforcement, state and local agency representatives, community and family members.
- Effectively and efficiently conduct investigations that utilize all reasonably available and appropriate sources of information relevant to the known facts about an individual case.
- Coordinate interviews of witnesses and provide information to witnesses on declaration statement criteria relevant to the case.
- Routinely assess the credibility of witnesses and information found in the course of an investigation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Masters Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field or must meet waiver criteria of RCW 71.24.260.
- Experience: Specialist (minimum of 3 years of job-related experience) At least five years of experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance, such experience gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional.
- Licensure: Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05.020.
Additional Information
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.
Hiring Range: $35.79 - $44.73 per hour
Additional Shift Differentials as high as +$6.00 per hour
