Reporting to the Head of Performance Services, this part-time role supports daily sports medicine operations for NYCFC Academy teams at St John’s University, Queens College, and City Football Academy-Orangeburg.
About the role
The Part-Time Academy Athletic Trainer (AT) provides medical coverage for trainings, matches, tournaments, and club events. Responsibilities include injury prevention, emergency care, injury evaluation, treatment, and assisting with high-quality medical services that support player health and long-term athlete development.
Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training coverage for Academy training, matches, tournaments, and special events.
- Perform emergency care, first aid, and immediate injury management.
- Deliver treatment and recovery interventions within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with Performance staff to support player health, recovery, and testing batteries.
- Represent NYCFC professionally and contribute to a positive, player-centered environment.
Requirements
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with an active New York State License.
- BOC Certified and member in good standing with NATA (or CATA).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sports medicine preferred.
- Experience working with soccer and/or youth or high-performance athletes preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Professional liability insurance required.
- Ability to comply with applicable child safety policies provided by NYCFC.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Pay
$50–65 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
5–25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
