About the role
The People Operations & Recruitment Coordinator supports the human resources and talent acquisition functions within Health Care for the Homeless (HCH). This role is pivotal in coordinating recruitment activities, managing candidate communications, and ensuring a seamless hiring process that aligns with company values and goals.
Responsibilities
- Career postings and candidate screening
- Interview scheduling and communication
- Collaboration with hiring managers on staffing needs
- Maintaining applicant tracking systems
- Supporting onboarding activities
- Assisting with employee engagement programs
- Generating recruitment and HR reports
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- At least 1-2 years of experience in recruitment, human resources, or people operations
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR information systems (HRIS)
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experience in customer service or public facing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment or startup
- Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in recruitment and HR
- Certification in HR or recruitment (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, AIRS)
- Proficiency with HR analytics and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Experience in a health care or non-profit setting highly preferred
Skills
- Efficient management of recruitment workflows
- Strong communication skills for liaising with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners
- Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and managing multiple tasks
- Familiarity with ATS and HRIS systems for tracking applicants and managing data
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR certifications for compliance and best practices
