The People & Development Systems & Operations Specialist will report to [Name]. This role offers a multifaceted view to the business, allowing you to learn how every department functions from the inside out. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary administrator for Workday, overseeing data integrity, generating complex strategic reports, and optimizing the platform for better employee lifecycle management.
  • Lead departmental strategic initiatives that align People and Development goals with Avocado’s mission-driven sustainability and social responsibility standards.
  • Leverage resourcefulness to identify inefficiencies in recruitment and onboarding, designing and implementing new workflows to scale with company growth.
  • Serve as the second-tier point of contact for complex employee relations issues or policy interpretations that require nuanced judgment.
  • Manage the auditing process for all personnel records and HRIS data to ensure 100% compliance with state and federal labor regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in Workday (specifically Core HR and Recruiting modules).
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively lead and communicate with a diverse, primarily Spanish-speaking workforce.
  • A professional who leads with ethical judgment, ensuring every employee feels their information is handled with the highest level of respect and security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to navigate ambiguous situations and find resourceful solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding data stewardship and regulatory compliance.
  • The ability to handle employee concerns with sensitivity and active listening while remaining objective.

Qualifications

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (desk work).
  • Operation of computer equipment and other office machinery.
  • Clear verbal communication for leading meetings and training sessions in English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to occasionally travel to various worksites, both domestic and international.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $60,000-$75,000.
