People & Culture Coordinator (Bi-lingual English/Spanish)
About the role
Crescent Hotels and Resorts is seeking an outstanding People & Culture Coordinator to join the exceptional Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center. Offering a calm haven and chic sophistication, Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center sits next to the eponymous shopping center in Oak Brook, Illinois. From our superb vantage point, guests can easily access attractions throughout Chicago, including Drury Lane Theatre, Elmhurst Art Museum and downtown.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the efficient administration of the Human Resources function for the property, to include: recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Provides guidance and support to management staff and hourly associates.
- Talent Management:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent for leadership and hourly positions across all departments, as needed.
- Oversee onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated seamlessly.
- Associate Relations & Engagement:
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive, issue-free work environment.
- Serve as a credible, visible and trusted advisor to managers and associates on HR matters.
- Timely address and resolve associate concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Organize associate engagement and recognition programs in alignment with Crescent’s associate recognition and communication initiatives.
- Training & Development:
- Facilitate training programs to enhance associate job skills and guest service focus and delivery.
- Oversee leadership development and succession planning efforts.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive compliance training all associates.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Manage payroll processes in collaboration with Finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends to ensure competitive compensation structures.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain up-to-date associate records and HR documentation.
- Lead workplace investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee workplace safety programs and support risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Previous Human Resources experience or education required.
- Previous hotel, restaurant or retail experience required.
- Prioritize Marriott brand experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources desired.
- Previous recruitment and talent management skills preferred.
- Experience with UKG/UltiPro systems and payroll processing preferred.
- Proven employee relations experience strongly desired.
- Able to handle complex associate issues with the upmost professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- This position requires the ability to read, write and speak Spanish.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (UKG/UltiPro).

Pay
Hourly wage rate of $24 - $25401K matching program for eligible associates.
