Pennsylvania Science Certified Extended Substitute Teacher

About the role

The North Allegheny School District seeks a Pennsylvania Certified Teacher to work as an Extended Substitute at North Allegheny Intermediate School from the start of the school year until December 23, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Establish a program and a class environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth by providing rich and engaging experiences.
• Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for learning, in accordance with each student's ability.
• Create and maintain good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Requirements

• Required Bachelor's Degree
• Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in General Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
• Current clearances including:
• Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA Criminal Record Check
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance
• Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training

Benefits

• Compensation structure: $120.00/day for days 1-30 (non-consecutive)
• 70% of Step One (1) in the collective bargaining agreement for 31+ consecutive days

Pay

Schedule

• Extended Substitute position from the start of the school year until December 23, 2026
