About the Role
Doylestown Hospital Laboratory provides robust laboratory services to a busy, 250-bed hospital as well as outpatient physician offices. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with fellow pathologists and clinicians throughout the system. The department of pathology receives over 16,000 surgical cases, 2,500 cytology cases, and performs over 1 million laboratory tests annually. Special diagnostic testing includes immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and next-generation sequencing.
Doylestown Hospital is a community hospital located in the center of Bucks County, Pa, with convenient access to Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley.
Responsibilities
- Daily sign-out of a mixture of general surgical pathology cases
- GYN and non-GYN cytology sign-out
- FNA on-site evaluation
- Frozen section coverage
- Weekly tumor board coverage
- AP/CP call (night/weekend call every 4th week)
No autopsy or grossing responsibilities. The department is supported by two and a half pathologist assistants, one cytotechnologist, five histotechnologists, and one and a half assistants.
Requirements
- MD or equivalent
- 0-1 year of experience and training in surgical pathology
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
- Strong surgical pathology skills
- Fellowship training or equivalent experience in cytopathology and/or hematopathology (highly desirable)

Pay
Salary offers range from $20,000 to $350,000 annually, based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they relate to the position. Salary is aligned with external market data and internal peer data at Penn.
