Pellet Mill Attendant I

Responsibilities

• Provide a quality product to customers by efficiently performing and overseeing various functions related to preparing fertilizer for sale.
• Ensure orders are filled, delivery dates are met, and inventory is monitored within the pellet mill department.
• Respond with urgency to all customer concerns regarding products and services.
• Maintain all supplies and equipment for Pellet Mill areas.
• Operate skid steer and assist in bagging as required.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate re-work and waste, and communicate these to the manager.
• Meet or exceed department standards without sacrificing quality or personal safety, and encourage team members to do the same.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents and promote safety.
• Work effectively with other areas of the farm.
• Maintain a clean breakroom.
• Identify safety hazards or opportunities for improvement and communicate them to the manager.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Strong aptitude for operating equipment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to perform job duties independently.
• Works well as a member of a team.
• Class A driver’s license is a plus.
• Forklift training and computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Mobile in nature, requiring moderate to high energy levels and occasional physical exertion.
• Exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, temperature changes, agricultural noise, dust, odors, and hazards.
• Constant physical demands include standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
