Peer to Peer Specialist
About the Role
Aspire Health and Community Services offers a Peer to Peer program at our Quincy clinic, providing support to individuals living with mental illness during evenings when access to mental health services is typically unavailable. The program operates within a living room model, offering a safe and supportive environment where clients can connect with peers who share similar experiences. The mission is to foster recovery through peer-led activities, respect, understanding, and encouragement.
Your contribution will help fulfill our mission, vision, and values, supporting the belief that mental health is the foundation of overall health in a judgment-free environment.
Responsibilities
- Connect with clients, encouraging open and honest dialogue, and demonstrating by example that recovery is possible.
- Serve as a role model for the group.
- Advocate for peers and promote healing through relationship building.
- Provide guidance on other mental health resources as needed.
Requirements
- Lived experience with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Peer Specialist Certification required within 6 months of hire.
Schedule
Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Hours: Thursday and Friday 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Sunday 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Pay
Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and certifications. The salary range for this part-time role is $20 USD per hour (annualized range for full-time, 40 hours per week: $20 – $20 USD).
