The aim is to ensure that survivors receive support from the recovery community, access harm reduction resources and are linked to treatment, thereby encouraging them on their path to recovery. The primary objective is to eliminate barriers and enhance access to high-quality, client-centered and culturally competent care throughout Anne Arundenal County. Peers play a crucial part in reducing the risk of overdose and improving the overall health and wellness of people who use drugs. Facilitate care, streamline communication with other entities in the county's health care system and ensure that participants receive the ongoing care they need. As a non-clinical, peer-based leader, engage, educate and empower individuals to make significant life changes that maximize harm reduction efforts, minimize adverse consequences, reduce risky behaviors, and promote better health, social and economic outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation in the Welligent system, which includes writing progress notes and completing necessary participant forms.
