Responsibilities
- Provides coaching and mentoring to peer support staff through role modeling and guidance, modeling techniques and practices of peer support and self-help.
- Acts as a mentor for new team members, facilitating training opportunities for professional development.
- Serves as a point of contact for participants, coordinating with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals.
- Facilitates, documents, transfers and transitions of guest care, keeping abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws, and adhering to Recovery Innovations policies and procedures.
- Aids participants with resume building, job searching and recovery planning, and provides recovery support services in partnership with team members in the community.
- Creates peer level curriculum and facilitates group activities, assists individuals in maintaining healthy living within the community.
- Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools, models hope, personal responsibility and self-advocacy, cultivates connectedness in the person’s life.
- Ensures all program elements and expectations are being met, provides peer support to engage participants in a recovery partnership, assists in identifying participant’s hopes and dreams and the solutions they are seeking.
- Completes clinical notes as required, facilitates, documentation, transfers and transition of guest care, understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards.
- Assists with initial introductions to clinical team, coordinates with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals, facilitates community integration.
- Coordinates transportation to external resources, develops and maintains positive and constructive working relationships with team members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
- Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
- Two (2) years of full-time behavioral health experience.
- Additional training in peer-related topics required.
- Experience in community navigation, resume writing, curriculum development, and family peer support.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools.
- Effective communication skills.

$20 per hour
