PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST & FAMILY SUPPORT PARTNER

About the role

PVFC is hiring for Peer Support Specialist and Family Support Partner positions in our Pocatello and Soda Springs, Idaho offices. This position starts part-time with the potential to transition to full-time as needs arise. Hours are flexible based on consumer needs.

Responsibilities

Peer Support Specialist

• Assist and advocate for individuals struggling in their recovery process due to mental illness
• Develop recovery goals and safety plans
• Address barriers to reaching goals
• Connect individuals with professional recovery resources in their community

Family Support Partner

• Assist caregivers of children diagnosed with a mental health disorder or coexisting mental health, developmental, and/or substance use disorders
• Advocate with caregivers to strengthen parental roles
• Promote skills needed for resiliency and coping

Requirements

• Certification as either a Peer Support Specialist or Family Support Partner
• Eligibility to work in Idaho
• Ability to pass a criminal history background check

Peer Support Specialist

• Lived experience with sufficient progress in the recovery process to meet certification standards
• Organizational skills and good working knowledge of peer support programs and mental health recovery

Family Support Partner

• Certified Family Support Partner in good standing
• Lived experience caring for a child with a mental health disorder and sufficient navigation of the recovery process to meet certification standards
• Organizational skills and good working knowledge of family support programs and mental health issues

Pay

Wage is based on experience and certification.
