About the role
PVFC is hiring for Peer Support Specialist and Family Support Partner positions in our Pocatello and Soda Springs, Idaho offices. This position starts part-time with the potential to transition to full-time as needs arise. Hours are flexible based on consumer needs.
Responsibilities
Peer Support Specialist
- Assist and advocate for individuals struggling in their recovery process due to mental illness
- Develop recovery goals and safety plans
- Address barriers to reaching goals
- Connect individuals with professional recovery resources in their community
Family Support Partner
- Assist caregivers of children diagnosed with a mental health disorder or coexisting mental health, developmental, and/or substance use disorders
- Advocate with caregivers to strengthen parental roles
- Promote skills needed for resiliency and coping
Requirements
- Certification as either a Peer Support Specialist or Family Support Partner
- Eligibility to work in Idaho
- Ability to pass a criminal history background check
Peer Support Specialist
- Lived experience with sufficient progress in the recovery process to meet certification standards
- Organizational skills and good working knowledge of peer support programs and mental health recovery
Family Support Partner
- Certified Family Support Partner in good standing
- Lived experience caring for a child with a mental health disorder and sufficient navigation of the recovery process to meet certification standards
- Organizational skills and good working knowledge of family support programs and mental health issues
