Responsibilities
- Deliver peer support services grounded in lived experience, offering emotional support, empowerment, and guidance to individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Offer empathy, encouragement, support, and practical assistance to empower individuals on a path to recovery.
- Perform all patient registration and reception functions with accuracy and professionalism.
- Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information; confirm eligibility and benefits; obtain required pre-authorizations or notifications from payers; and accurately document all information into the electronic health record.
- Facilitate timely, respectful, and thorough registration and verification processes, supporting smooth access to care and appropriate reimbursement for services rendered.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to promoting mental health and wellness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate calmly and effectively under stress.
- Experience in behavioral health or healthcare required.
- Prioritize/multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications such as PRSS, AVADE, and BLS within one year of hire.
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
